My husband just downloaded Mingus, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, and a couple of others.

Thanks for the heads up!

I've just downloaded LOTS of free music from the Podcast section of the iTunes store on my "new" 2002 iPod classic. There's "All Songs Considered," an NPR thing, there's "New Music Tuesdays," there's something that offers an MP3 a day, there's an "Indie-Alternative" podcast, lots of stuff. This suits me because I am not looking for anything in particular. It has been so long since I've known what was going on in popular music that I'm in "Surprise me" mode for the time being. I am hoping to find something amongst the 15 Gb I downloaded that will please me & that I can get more of (maybe). I'm not dependent on having MUSIC all the time; in fact, the opposite. But I'm going on a long car trip soon (I think) and I'd like to break up my usual fare of history/philosophy/literature lecture podcasts.
